Octo Love!

hand knit by Our Yellow House.

Donna Wilson's odd objects

Donna Wilson's unique and quirky knitted creatures have been a love since first site. Her knitted whimsy captured my heart with odd proportions, funny color combinations & lots of personality. I love how the machine knitted intarsia patterns transform her doodly drawings into 3D forms. So playful and cozy!

Again, I find myself absolutely mesmerized by the new projects she has been working on. It is impossible to choose a favorite, I seriously want everything! Be sure to check out the glassware, melamine trays, cushions, pillows, blankets, scarves, tea towels, the new creatures... Oh, so hard to choose, so hard to choose... (Which would you choose?)

To add to to the excitement, she has a new book out, so you can knit your own odd-bod bunch of creatures too!

not to be worn as a sweater

"Small sweater looking scarf. Winding around the neck it maybe used as a muffler. Not to be worn as a sweater." Can't even begin to express how much I am loving these knit pieces by Tou! Doesn't it make you smile?

The concept behind Tou is "to find a new view point": using the shapes of ordinary existing items with a bit of change. Your imagination and creativity is required for wearing. Quirky elegance, utilitarian and a subtle sense of playfulness: Isn't it beautiful?

Please visit Tou's website to explorre more of their designs. You can purchase one (or two or...) here.

Debi van Zyl

The knitted creatures by Debi van Zyl always make me smile. Their hand knit texture and vintage buttons makes them feel cozy and familiar. Funny, simple proportions, stripes and great color combinations mix up the familiar with something a little unexpected and more playful. The perfect combination!
